Fuel Poverty Voices

Can you speak out about fuel poverty?

Sharing a lived experience of fuel poverty can be a powerful way of advocating for change. That’s why Fuel Poverty Action set up Fuel Poverty Voices, to empower our members and supporters to share their experiences of being ripped off by energy companies and failed by the government. We want to amplify the voices of people on the frontline of fuel poverty, and spread the stories of individual and collective battles they are involved in.

We are inviting people who would like to speak out – in the news, on the radio, on our website, to support our consultation responses, or on social media – to get in contact. We can provide support and training, with sensitivity to the difficulties of sharing lived experience, especially in the hostile mainstream media environment.

If you’re interested in sharing your story on our website, on social media or even in the press, you can fill in this form.

Hannah and Graeme from Fuel Poverty Action in Manchester opened our 2024 conference with some powerful personal stories from their members. This set the scene and focused our minds on connecting our research to the realities of fuel poverty and poor housing.
