Get ready for action!

Fuel Poverty Action’s local groups bring together passionate people of all ages and backgrounds to tackle fuel poverty head-on. Our very first hub in Glasgow kicked off in August 2023. The Manchester hub followed suit in May 2024 and is sparking into life.

Each hub is powered by a dynamic steering group that leads a diverse group of activists – from trade unionists and climate champions to first-time activists and everyday people who are determined to fight fuel poverty and climate disaster.

Since day one, our hubs have been making noise and taking bold action! From protesting against protesting against Ofgem for putting profits over people’s energy needs, to hosting Warm-Ups: creative occupations of public space that raise awareness of fuel poverty and the need for an energy pricing revolution.

We’ve also been fighting for greener, more affordable transport with coalitions like Better Buses for Strathclyde, and standing alongside fellow green activists to block new gas-powered stations.

Not to mention our ongoing efforts with trade union allies, rallying support for the Unite 4 Energy For All Campaign. Together, we’re ensuring the fight for affordable, accessible energy is louder than ever! If you live in or near Glasgow or Greater Manchester, email fuelpovertyaction@gmail.com for us to put you in touch with your local steering group.

The Energy Pricing Revolution

We are all entitled to energy for heating, washing, lighting, cooking, connectivity, and medical needs. Let’s get the money back from the fossil fuel giants who are profiting from our unpayable bills!
